DIOCTYL ADIPATE

Dioctyl adipate (DOA) is an ester of 2-ethylhexanol and adipic acid with the formula C22H42O4 which is a plasticizer used in polyvinyl chloride. In PVC, DOA features flexibility at low temperatures, good electrical properties, good resistance to weathering, and good stability to heat.

In addition to PVC, DOA is compatible with nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, most synthetic rubbers, and high-butyryl cellulose acetate butyrates.

It has physical and chemical properties that ensure proper flexibility and durability especially in the production processes of many materials such as food packaging, medical products and cosmetics, waterproof clothes and floor coverings. In addition, DOA is used in the production of strech film, phthalate-free articles, toys, binding cloth, special hose, tablecloth, artificial leather, cable, PVC mat, tarpaulin.
